Mad About You Star John Pankow Set for Cymbeline

John Pankow, the stage regular best known for playing Ira on the sitcom Mad About You, has joined the upcoming Lincoln Center Theater production of Cymbeline. He will play Pisanio in the Shakespeare romance, which starts performances at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre on November 1.

Pankow was last seen on the Broadway stage playing Juror #7 in the acclaimed Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Twelve Angry Men. He also appeared on Broadway as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Amadeus and in The Iceman Cometh and Serious Money. Off-Broadway credits include Slab Boys, Forty-Deuce, Italian American Reconciliation, Aristocrats, Baby Anger, Barbara's Wedding and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Over the years, Pankow has appeared in numerous Shakespeare in the Park productions at the Delacorte Theatre: Henry V 1984, Two Gentlemen of Verona 1987, The Tempest 1995 and Measure for Measure 2001.

As previously announced, Cymbeline also stars Martha Plimpton as Imogen, Michael Cerveris as Posthumus Leonatus, John Cullum as Cymbeline, Phylicia Rashad as Queen and Jonathan Cake as Iachimo under the direction of Mark Lamos. Also featured in the company are Jeff Bender, Daniel Breaker, Anthony Cochrane, Noshir Dalal, Adam Dannheisser, Jordan Dean, Herb Foster, David Furr, Adam Greer, Michael Howell, Ezra Knight, LeRoy McClain, Paul O'Brien, Daniel Oreskes, Gordana Rashovich, Nancy Rodriguez, Michael Rossmy, Richard Topol, Gregory Wooddell and Jeff Woodman.

Cymbeline opens on December 1.
